LA Marijuana Dispensary Ban Suspended
LA Marijuana Dispensary Ban Suspended: 50,000 Signatures Could Force Pot Shop Referendum by Kathleen Miles
Medical marijuana patients in LA can finally exhale the weed smoke from their lungs, at least for now. I'm sure the threat of the ban, which was supposed to go into effect next week, hasn't stopped anyone from finding access to marijuana, so what is the point of it anyway? A referendum was forced by the collection of 50,000 signatures from people who disagree with the ban. The ban would shut down about 1,000 dispensaries in the city but would allow groups of three or fewer marijuana patients to grow marijuana in their homes for personal use.
These patients are basically being told to tend to their own marijuana plants at home like it's a hobby or some shit. I mean I'm sure some people enjoy growing their own plants but some people just need the damn medicine. The fact that they are allowing small groups of patients to grow their own marijuana plants at home is an understanding on their part that it does have positive medicinal value. So why do they continue to make it more difficult for these patients to get access to it by telling them they have to fucking grow it themselves like it's just another vegetable plant in their garden? Boggles my mind...In the meantime, stay medicated!

It was sad that in a unanimous 14-0 vote on July 24, the Los Angeles City Council banned all retail medical cannabis dispensaries within city limits. Good that patients can finally exhale the weed smoke from their lungs, at least for now.
