Snoop Dogg On His Son's Marijuana Use

Snoop Dogg On Teen Son's Pot Use: 'He's Learning From the Master' by Shirley Halperin from The Hollywood Reporter

Snoop Dogg or Snoop Lion, whatever you prefer to call him, is currently guiding his oldest son Corde into launching his rap career as Spanky Danky. Usually a discussion regarding marijuana use comes up between a father and son when some weed is found in the son's bedroom or a roach is found in an ashtray after a weekend party while the parents were on vacation. Snoop Dogg on the other hand takes a totally different approach. He shows his 18-year-old son the proper way to hit a two-foot bong and they enjoy the chronic together, forming a father/son like bond that many Americans and people worldwide would consider to be a parenting failure. But is it? That's all just opinion...when we were put on this earth there wasn't a Guidebook for "Proper Parenting" laying around that everyone was expected to read and follow to a T in order for your children to be raised correctly and become "normal". Snoops has the freedom to choose how he wants to raise his children and in these circumstances it seems to be perfectly fine for he is showing his son how he was able to become so successful while also smoking weed.
Snoop says, "What better way to learn than from the master?" He also goes on to say, "My kids can do whatever the hell they want. I'm his father, so I want to show him the proper way because he looks up to me." We all know Snoop doesn't hide his love for the chronic from the public, so doing so with his son would just be hypocritical. Snoop Dogg and many other artists, musicians, and other successful people have proven that you can smoke marijuana and be successful. That doesn't mean it is for everyone but some people, including Snoop, claim that it has many beneficial uses pertaining to health, creativity and recreational use. Like us here at greenomix, Snoop hopes to one day see the "drug" fully and federally legalized in his lifetime. So to those who use marijuana in a positive manner to better their lives and to reverse the typical stereotypes associated with us "lazy potheads", STAY MEDICATED!

Marijuana and Cancer: New Findings

Marijuana and Cancer: Scientists Find Cannabis Compound Stops Metastasis In Aggressive Cancers by Robin Wilkey

A pair of scientists at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco have found that a compound derived from marijuana could stop metastasis in many kinds of aggressive cancer, including breast, prostate, and brain cancer. Although these are just initial findings and human trials are needed to test the validity of these findings this seems to be very promising news for cancer patients and marijuana advocates worldwide.
Supposedly the gene that causes cancer to spread, ID-1, can be "turned off" with Cannabidiol which is a non-toxic, non-psychoactive chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. When Cannabidiol was applied to the genes that cause cancer to spread, the cells stopped spreading and returned to normal. However, they did say that smoking marijuana wouldn't provide you with enough dosage of Cannabidiol from the plant for it to be effective in fighting the cancer cells. Although more research will be needed to prove this, as marijuana advocates we can be glad that this research has been conducted and human trials are being set up to test it. The push to end marijuana prohibition has helped to spark this research, and because of that we should all spark up! Stay medicated!

Successful Smoker of the Day

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga or Lady Ganja? I'll be straight up, I don't listen to or follow what Lady Gaga is doing, but I came across this video (fast forward to 2 minute mark) of her performing in Amsterdam this past Tuesday and I can say I'm a little more fond of her now. I figured we would honor her with a "Successful Smoker of the Day" because we all know she is doing quite well for herself. Lady Gaga later expressed that she is a big fan of marijuana stating, "I want you to know that it has totally changed my life and I've really cut down on drinking. It has been a totally spiritual experience for me with my music." Just another great example of how marijuana can induce creativity within someone and lead them to success. Stay medicated Lady Gaga!

States vs. Federal - Marijuana Revolt

Are States Leading Revolt on U.S. Marijuana Laws? by Maggie Clark

This November we may see a new president elected to office, but more importantly we may witness some major changes that could spark the beginning of the end of marijuana prohibition. That potential spark could begin in the states of Washington, Oregon and Colorado where voters will decide if they want to legalize and regulate recreational marijuana consumption and production. If these initiatives go the way we would like them to then these states would be in conflict with federal law and that is exactly what this country needs. The federal government continues to crack down on medical marijuana initiatives nationwide, forcing many medical marijuana dispensaries to close up shop. However, the only way to spark up some debate and to potentially swing this argument in the favor of marijuana activists is for the states to initiate conflict with the federal government. This can all happen if voters get out there in November and let their voice be heard. So spark up a joint, spark up some conflict and go vote!
