L.A. Councilman Uses Marijuana

L.A. Councilman Takes Medical Marijuana for Nerve Disorder by David Zahniser

Bill Rosendahl is a prime example of what our brand stands for... the fact that people who use cannabis, whether for medicinal or recreational purposes, can still be productive members of society. Although our brand is catered to a younger market, people like Bill (who has used marijuana for a decade) show us that marijuana use does not hinder one's progression in society. Those who want to succeed will do so regardless. Marijuana prohibitionists who say that marijuana use causes laziness and hinders motivation are just saying this to classify all cannabis users. They are making assumptions based on old-school standards that were instilled into their small brains by society at the time. But hey times change and so should our approach on certain issues in society. With no change, there is no progress. Hell, there are a lot of damn lazy $h!theads out there that don't use marijuana, what about them? They just get to slide under the radar though? I would hire a productive cannabis user over an unproductive straightedge person any day of the week!
The fact that Rosendahl was prescribed cannabis as a treatment for his neuropathy condition (a nerve disorder) makes this a private affair between him and his doctor. Thus it is not anybody else's business. However he has decided to bring it to the forefront and is very courageous for telling the LA Times that he uses cannabis, especially during a time when the mayor has just agreed to a ban on all medical marijuana dispensaries. To the marijuana prohibitionists, cannabis users and others alike do not stand by your medicine cabinet and tell you if the medications/drugs you take are for legitimate reasons, so don't do it to people like Rosendahl. STAY MEDICATED Mr. Rosendahl!

A Prime Example of the Benefits of Cannabis

Doobons.com Sends Out Plea for Cannabis Oil Donations for Four-Year-Old Brain Cancer Victim Cash Hyde via equities.com

Here we have a touching story that solidifies the fact that cannabis can truly benefit somebody's life that is in jeopardy. As marijuana activists we aren't just a group of "potheads" looking to make marijuana legal so we can smoke all day and be "lazy and unmotivated", since that is what the "drug" does, right? Bullshit. As an activist myself I obviously believe that marijuana should be legal for medicinal and recreational purposes. Recently there has been a crackdown on dispensaries by the federal government, and dispensaries are in place to serve patients who need marijuana to treat several different conditions. Are there individuals who use and even purchase marijuana from medical dispensaries just to smoke it for euphoric reasons? Yes, I'm sure there are several people who do so but does that make them a criminal? No. Does that mean the government should close these dispensaries and cut off the patients who desperately need the cannabis for legitimate medicinal benefits? An even bigger NO. Well that is what is happening because of these dispensary crackdowns.
A prime example is a 4-year-old child in Montana, Cash Hyde, who suffers from brain cancer. Cash uses cannabis oil as medication to treat his brain tumor. Traditional treatments and medications given to Cash prior to the cannabis oil had all failed. With no other option Cash's father resorted to high-CBD cannabis oil in an attempt to save his son's life. This caused Cash's brain tumor to go into remission twice and he started eating and even playing like a child again. So ultimately these federal raids on marijuana dispensaries have cut off Cash's supply to a medicine that is keeping him alive and his cancer has returned. So this is just one of many situations where patients who need cannabis to treat their conditions and even to stay alive are basically being told by the government that they cannot have their medicine. Sounds pathetic to me...and to any marijuana prohibitionist that says they wouldn't want their child to have access to cannabis if it was the only thing that was keeping them alive, bullshit! Put yourself in someone else's shoes and let's be realistic. Marijuana prohibition is a joke. Time for change. Click the link above to read more about this touching story and ways to help out people like Cash.

Snoop Dogg Banned From Norway

Snoop Dogg has been banned from Norway for 2 years. Take a fuckin wild guess as to why...we all know it involves the smoking/possession of the chronic. Last month Snoop Dogg was heading to a music festival and tried to enter the country with about 8 measly grams of marijuana when sniffer dogs detected the marijuana in his luggage. He was also carrying more cash than is legally allowed in Norway and was fined about $9,000 for the two offenses. I swear if that was just a normal person other than Snoop they would be locked up abroad in Norway for the rest of their life and tortured and killed or some shit...but nah Snoop is just released and fined. That day Snoop probably just flew to another country and got stoned as fuck. I'm sure he will be just fine not being able to go to Norway for two years. If anything the country loses out on future Snoop concerts... Stay Medicated!

Successful Smoker of the Day

STEPHEN KING

Here we have an American author who has written over 50 novels and has sold more than 350 million copies of those books. That's it Mr. King? Only 350 million copies? Pathetic. From the weed smoking woods of Maine Mr. King is a complete genius when it comes to writing horror novels and I can guarantee he was stoned out of his fucking mind when he came up with these plots. Just another example of how smoking marijuana can induce creativity and imagination. Isn't that what they tell us as children growing up? "Hey Johnny be creative and use that imagination of yours!" Ya well let Johnny smoke a fuckin joint first and then he will get right on that. We are not here to push marijuana use on individuals who don't prefer to smoke, but rather to be a voice for those who choose to do so while also being a positive part of society. Let us live and use it to our advantage, whether that is for medical or recreational purposes. Many marijuana prohibitionists think that the legalization of marijuana will cause an increase in use amongst our younger generations. I believe that if they want to smoke, they are going to smoke regardless of the laws in place.
Stephen King has been quoted on his opinion on marijuana legalization stating, "I think that marijuana should not only be legal, I think it should be a cottage industry. It would be wonderful for the state of Maine. There's some pretty good homegrown dope. I'm sure it would be even better if you could grow it with fertilizers and have greenhouses." I bet Mr. King has his own greenhouse right now in the backyard of his mansion...just growing marijuana and writing the shit out of novels like a boss! Stay medicated Mr. King!!

L.A.'s Medical Marijuana Up in Smoke?

L.A.'s Medical Marijuana Mess LA Times

So the medical marijuana mess continues in California with issues uprising all over the state from San Diego to Oakland and now Los Angeles. Yet nobody seems to have a damn clue about whats going on or how to handle the situation because the legalities of the industry are different from a state and federal perspective. So since the federal government already considers marijuana an illegal drug the Los Angeles City Council is ultimately left on their own to decide how they want to regulate the industry. However placing a ban on these businesses by the city of L.A. may be illegal in itself...wait what? Confusing as shit I know, but basically L.A. doesn't have the power to fully ban these marijuana distribution outlets as a whole because that would be violating state law which deems these businesses as legal entities. So their approach is to ban all but the tiniest collectives (three or fewer members) that way they can regulate the amount of shops in the city without actually breaking a state law.
All in all this is just more nonsense and bullshit added to an already cloudy industry in which politicians have no fucking clue how to fix. This is all a result of Obama's contradictive approach in which he promised to not target those marijuana businesses that act in compliance with state law, yet he has not kept that promise and there seems to be a ripple effect going on here throughout the state of California. So ultimately L.A. is trying to take matters into their own hands to regulate the industry by creating their own ban, which they will ultimately be sued for months down the road...at this point the legalities of this industry need to be addressed on a federal level by the President of the United States. This state vs. federal shit is just pathetic, make up your fucking mind on a nationwide level and impose those laws in every state. Simple as that. I need a fuckin joint after this blog!

Laura Duffy is the Melinda Haag of Southern California

Here we have just another unintelligent, small-minded U.S. Attorney that has nothing better to do with her time but to attack and attempt to force the one and only medical marijuana dispensary in San Diego to close. Laura Duffy has threatened to fine and even confiscate the property of Mother Earth Cooperative, the only licensed co-op in Southern California. Even some members of Congress disagree with Duffy's unwarranted threats including congressman and San Diego mayoral candidate Bob Filner. The facility is abiding by the state laws and regulations and is inspected monthly by the San Diego Sheriff's Department which states that they have been fully compliant with the law. Since Mother of Earth is the only legal facility of it's kind in Southern California, 2300 patients rely on them for medication, those of which who will have to resort to drug dealers on the streets if it is shut down. Oh and also more lost jobs and increased unemployment. These attorneys really just continue to boggle my mind. Do they really have nothing better to do with their time? I'm sure there is a whole list of more important shit they could be dealing with...damn can someone slip this woman a space cake for breakfast tomorrow? SMH!

Obama to Visit Oakland Aka Oaksterdam

Obama's Oakland Visit: Marijuana Lovers Promise To Be There by Chris Roberts

Well this should be interesting!! Obama's reelection campaign chose Oakland as their Bay Area headquarters and the President will arrive in town on Monday at the Fox Theater for a fundraiser. Coincidence or is this Obama's plan of attack? Who knows and who gives a shit it's politics (we will never know the truth), but it surely makes it a little more interesting. As we all know Oaksterdam, a cultural district on the north end of downtown Oakland, offers medical cannabis in a variety of competitively priced smokeable and edible preparations that are available for purchase in multiple cafes, clubs and patient dispensaries. Simply put...Oakland depends on medical marijuana. However, U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag and the federal Justice Department are attempting to close the state's most successful dispensary, Harborside Health Center, as well as many others in the state. Harborside Health Center has been fully compliant with the legalities of their business on a state level, but Melinda Haag claims that they are getting "too large". WTF? Too large? This is business, so a large business is a successful business. So Melinda Haag is basically saying if you are too successful you should be shut down. Isn't this America? Where we promote and encourage success? Anyways I could rant and rave on Melinda Haag all day but back to the point...On Monday hundreds of marijuana activists will be glad to greet Obama with a protest for allowing these dispensary shut downs. So in the meantime stay medicated and stay tuned for an update!

Just Another Athlete Suspended for Smoking the Herb

Bears DT Nate Collins Suspended for Marijuana Arrest by Brendan Porath

Here we have just another athlete who was arrested and suspended by the NFL for enjoying the chronic. Chicago Bears DT Nate Collins was suspended for the first game of the 2012 season after being arrested in late February in Virginia. Collins was pulled over for illegal tints...so nobody can see him smoking in his car of course. The officer smelt the potent scent of marijuana (because he probably indulges in some himself after a long day of work chasing down "criminals" like Mr. Collins) and found a few marijuana joints in a duffle bag. C'mon man a few marijuana joints?? SMH, Mr. Collins is just trying to enjoy himself in the offseason and smoke a couple joints here and there, let him live. Ya, ya marijuana prohibitionists will say "it's the law and you must abide by it" but that's the whole issue here, the law is bullshit. How are you going to incriminate a grown ass man who decides to smoke a couple joints? Shit just boggles my mind that you become a criminal because you indulge in the smoking of a natural plant...that's like making it illegal to make a salad with lettuce bruh! Stay Medicated Mr. Collins!!

MORGAN FREEMAN

Morgan Freeman is a long-time advocate of marijuana legalization and although he has had a difficult history with drugs and alcohol, the actor states that he'll "never give up the ganja" calling it "God's own weed". In a recent interview with Newsweek Freeman reiterates his support for marijuana legalization...
"Marijuana! Heavens, oh yeah. It’s just the stupidest law possible, given history. You don’t stop people from doing what they want to do, so forget about making it unlawful. You’re just making criminals out of people who aren’t engaged in criminal activity. And we’re spending zillions of dollars trying to fight a war we can’t win! We could make zillions, just legalize it and tax it like we do liquor. It’s stupid."
I mean just look at him in the picture above with those shades on, you know he's stoned as fuck...so what? Let the man smoke! Stay medicated Mr. Freeman!

I Want One of These...but Will it Do the Job??

I know when it comes to smoking the chronic everyone has there preference on how they would like to do so, whether its blunts, joints, bowls, bongs or even vaporizers. Here we have the Ploom Pax, a pocket-sized vaporizer for smoking on the go. This thing is pretty cool and could be vital when you need that quick couple hits while you are out in public, at work, in the bathroom at the bar, at your grandmother's fifth wedding or wherever the fuck else you are when you get that urge to smoke. But my question is, will it do the job? Is this little pocket-sized vaporizer strong enough to give me the high I need to survive? I mean I know it won't pack the punch like a blunt to the head but hopefully for $250 it can have me in the clouds or somewhere close at least.

Successful Smoker of the Day

PETER LEWIS

We usually don't do back to back "Successful Smoker of the Day" articles but this is one that I didn't want to put off any longer because Peter Lewis deserves the spotlight and is the epitome of a "successful smoker". I'm sure everyone reading this right now is saying, "Peter Lewis? Who the hell is Peter Lewis?" Well if you smoke marijuana and are in favor of its legalization then you should probably become acquainted with Mr. Lewis.
This November Massachusetts voters will most likely have the opportunity to vote on whether marijuana can be used for medical purposes throughout the state. The organization supporting the proposed bill, the Committee for Compassionate Medicine, raised $526,000 in an effort to give voters a chance to decide if medical marijuana should be legal. Of that $526,000 raised, Peter donated $525,000!! That's just pocket change for the former Progressive Insurance CEO who has an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion. Lewis has and continues to donate to marijuana reform nationwide and backs such movements in his home state of Ohio as well as Colorado and Washington. It's estimated that Lewis has donated about $40 million to marijuana reform nationwide.
So why is Lewis so determined to push for marijuana legalization? Lewis admits to smoking marijuana recreationally earlier in his life but it was an infection in 1998 that had part of his leg amputated that changed his views on the true value of marijuana. Referring back to his time in the hospital after the amputation, Lewis states, "I was very glad I had marijuana. It didn't exactly eliminate the pain, but it made the pain tolerable...and it let me avoid those heavy-duty narcotic pain relievers that leave you incapacitated." Lewis believes that the federal War on Drugs is partly to blame for "outdated, ineffective, and stupid" marijuana laws. Amen Peter! Amen! So I'll speak on behalf of the marijuana reformers nationwide and say thank you Peter Lewis!

Successful Smoker of the Day

MICHAEL PHELPS

With the London 2012 Olympics coming up in less than two weeks who is a better "Successful Smoker" to feature other than the human fish himself, Michael Phelps. In 2008 Phelps crushed the competition and took home eight gold medals for the U.S. in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. A year later Phelps was "caught" hitting a bong at a University of South Carolina college party...so what? The kid was 23 years old at the time. Ya he won a handful of gold medals and represents the U.S. as an Olympic athlete but he was still in his college prime years. If he wasn't smoking and drinking I'd probably lose a little respect for him to be honest. And I guarantee at the age of 27 he is still ripping the shit out of bongs, he's just being a little more discreet about it. I figure if you can win eight gold medals in the Olympic games you should be able to smoke whatever the fuck you want, when you want, wherever you want and nobody should judge you for it. So I'm sure Phelps was staying well medicated for the past four years and now he is ready to go for London! I'll be stoned on my couch watching...

Obama vs. Romney in the Marijuana Debate

Marijuana Legalization Should Be a Focus in 2012 Election by Ann Jackowitz

In the upcoming November election the debate on marijuana legalization could prove to be an important issue for the presidential candidates...or will it? Both Obama and Romney would prefer to not discuss marijuana during their 2012 presidential campaigns, claiming it to "not be a priority". Well that's just a blatant lie because based on the voice of the people and the one's who will decide who gets to sit at the throne of The White House, it seems to very much be an important issue in the campaign. So I guess in regards to the two candidates it's not a matter of which one will benefit the marijuana legalization movement the most but rather which one will negatively affect it the least.
Obama was a recreational marijuana user as a teenager, and although he refers to those times as "wrong decisions" he at least consciously knows how good it feels to smoke and be stoned. Maybe just maybe he will get the urge again to spark one up in the Oval Office and legalize marijuana nationwide and everyone will be happy and merry...(I know it's a long shot but hey you never know, one can only wish). Obama has stated that he does support medical marijuana for disease and pain treatment however he has continued the crackdown on marijuana dispensaries in certain states that allow such businesses. He seems to be contradicting himself here.
Romney on the other hand says that his religion prohibits him from drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, or even consuming coffee or tea. Bruh you won't even drink coffee or tea, c'mon man! Romney states that he absolutely opposes marijuana legalization, even for medical purposes. Romney and his wife have admitted that they do drink hot chocolate and diet coke though, so they do have a little bit of a wild side...SMMFH! So in this regard I guess the candidate for us pro-marijuana legalization voters is unfortunately Obama. What about Schwarzenegger? Where the hell is he at? I'd vote for him all day!!

Alcohol is More of a "Gateway" Drug Than Marijuana

Marijuana prohibitionists have always stood by the idiotic claim that marijuana is the "gateway" drug for other "harder" drugs. However a recent study from the University of Florida contradicts that claim, and it couldn't be any more obvious, but at least there are some statistics to back it up. The researchers believe that the "gateway drug" for the younger generations is in fact alcohol. Nothing against the researchers but no shit! I mean I can even speak for myself and say that I started using marijuana years after I tried alcohol, and I smoked mainly to cure that throbbing headache the next morning. If I never experienced a hangover I may not even have ever tried marijuana (...ok i'm lying). But honestly this study is just common sense and the picture above just reiterates the fact that marijuana is safer for our society than alcohol...but everyone and their mothers needs a cold beer or a stiff drink at the end of a long day so nobody wants to admit it...SMMFH!!

California Pot Shops Targeted for Closure by DEA

Vapor Room Closing: Beloved San Francisco Pot Shop Succumbs to Federal Pressure by Carly Schwartz

Popular California Pot Shop Targeted for Closure by Lisa Leff

SMMFH!! Two popular California medical marijuana dispensaries, one in San Francisco and one in Oakland, are being targeted for closure by the Federal Government. The Vapor Room in San Francisco will close their doors at the end of the month and Harborside Health Center in Oakland intends to have their day in court in an effort to continue business, which the State of California deems absolutely legal. It seems as if the Obama administration has no intention to let any sort of profitable medical marijuana industry grow in the state of California or anywhere in the U.S. for that matter.
More specifically U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag (pictured below) is behind these crackdowns, claiming that these California cannabis operations have turned into "numerous drug trafficking enterprises" and that dispensaries are located too close to parks and schools. I mean this lady even looks like a witch, I guess it's just in her nature to be the one behind the efforts to close these dispensaries. So now as a result of the wicked witch of the west, thousands of jobs are lost as well as millions of dollars in tax revenue for California. Great so increased unemployment and less tax revenue for the state. What fucking good does that do? Someone roll this woman a joint please because she just looks so stressed. Some say smoking marijuana kills brain cells...I beg to differ because this lady probably has never enjoyed the chronic but yet she doesn't have the slightest clue about what is best for this country.

Successful Smoker of the Day

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

As a former professional bodybuilder, actor, businessman, investor and California Governor you can say Arnold has had quite the career. Oh and he smoked marijuana back in the 1970's in the classic documentary "Pumping Iron".

When asked if he really smoked marijuana in the movie or if it was fake and if he really inhaled Arnold replied, "No I really smoked it...and I also inhaled."
In another interview with GQ magazine he told them, "I didn't take any drugs." The interviewer responded by saying that Arnold had in fact admitted to smoking marijuana in the documentary.
Arnold's rebuttal, "That is not a drug. That's a leaf." (Classic Arnold Voice)

LMAO! But that was the 70's right? No way in hell the former California Governor is indulging in some Cali chronic these days...bullshit. Dude is rolling up on a daily basis getting stoned as fuck and reminiscing on a successful career...you and I both would!

I'll leave you with a video of Arnold admitting to his marijuana use and you tell me if you disagree ~~~~> Arnold Schwarzenegger Smoking Marijuana

Uruguayan Politicians > U.S. Politicians

Uruguay: A state marijuana monopoly? by Nathan Jones

Uruguay is proposing to legalize and fully monopolize marijuana use in their country from the sale, to regulation, to full control of the "drug" by the state. This is in an effort to reduce the country's overall use of cocoa paste (crack cocaine) and also goes against the whole "gateway drug" concept that many marijuana prohibitionists use as a defense when the topic of marijuana legalization arises. Those against the legalization believe that if individuals are prevented from access to a "soft" drug like marijuana that they are less likely to use a "hard" drug like cocaine....well that's absolute bullshit. Uruguayan President Jose Mujica takes the opposite approach and believes that drug users will be less likely to use cocoa paste if marijuana is sold openly and legally by the state. He believes this to be true because these individuals will not have to deal with unregulated drug dealers who are pushing more profitable "hard" drugs on these users. Such an approach has seemed to work just fine in the Netherlands where there are regulated "coffee shops" that sell strictly marijuana.
Well I'm glad some of these politicians in South America have a decent head on their shoulders and can accept the fact that sometimes change is needed in regards to our approach on certain political issues in the world today. With time comes change in the environments in which we live, thus changes must be made to how we approach and handle these issues. It's 2012 not the fucking 1930's. Hopefully some of that common sense can find its way up here to North America and seep into the brains of some of these closed-minded politicians. In the meantime stay medicated!

Miami Face-Chewing Attack Being Linked to Cannabis Use is Absurd

Was Miami Face-Chewing Attack Caused by Cannabis-Induced Psychosis by Noura Ibrahim

The fact that any connection was or is still being made between the "Miami Zombie Attack" and Cannabis use is just absurd. Originally it was said that the attacker had bath salts in his system, which was later found out to be false. They then stated that there were just traces of marijuana in his system. So that must have induced the psychosis and led him to snack on some dudes face right? Ridiculous. Humans have been smoking marijuana since the Biblical times, and about 20 million Americans smoke marijuana today. So since some nutcase decided to go all ape-shit and eat someone's face off, those idiots who call it "The Devil's Weed" automatically assume marijuana to be the cause of his actions.  At this point I'm beginning to think this whole story is made up and is just a marijuana prohibitionist propaganda piece against the nationwide political movements to decriminalize/legalize marijuana. Let's use fear to scare off those borderline voters who are yet to be convinced that marijuana legalization is in fact the best thing for this country and even the world. Let's use this rare face-eating attack to make them think that if marijuana is legalized that everyone will start eating each others faces and the "Zombie Apocalypse" will be underway. Pathetic. This is a prime example of how the media uses stories and falsifies the information in a misleading way to sway the thoughts of others on certain issues on the political forefront. So all I have to say to the marijuana prohibitionists is good try but you'll have to come up with something better than that to stop the marijuana decriminalization/legalization movement.

Oliver Stone, 'Savages' Director, Talks Marijuana

Oliver Stone, director of the new drug-war thriller movie "Savages" which will open Friday, has no shame in expressing his love for marijuana. I mean his last name is fucking Stone what do you expect?? He should just legally change his last name and throw a D on the end for shits and giggles just because he can. The new movie "Savages" in a nutshell is about a Mexican drug cartel that kidnaps the girlfriend of two marijuana growers, one a University of California, Berkeley graduate and the other a former U.S. Navy Seal. The two marijuana growers must confront the Mexican drug cartel in order to rescue her. Oh and John Travolta plays a corrupt DEA agent. If you want a more in depth description then go see the damn movie in theaters tomorrow after you smoke a joint or two. But back to the original point of this blog, the fact that Oliver Stone smokes marijuana and is just out directing movies like it's his job. Oh wait it is! Stone, who has been smoking since his days in Vietnam in the late 1960's, fully supports the legalization of marijuana and claims that the U.S. is growing some of the most potent stuff out there. In regards to the legalization of marijuana Stone states, "It can be done. It can be done legally, safely, healthy and it can be taxed and the government can pay for education and stuff like that. Also, you can save a fortune by not putting kids in jail." Of course it is easier said than done but you have to start somewhere and we can already see developments being made as more and more people like Oliver Stone step up and express their opinion. I doubt "Savages" is going to sway anyones opinion one way or the other on this matter and I doubt it will hit box office records but just because I support Stone's views I will be smoking a J and grabbing a bucket of buttered popcorn for this one.

Olympic Athlete Stephany Lee Banned From London 2012 Games

Just another example of a professional athlete affected by the ridiculous guidelines associated with marijuana prohibition. American wrestler Stephany Lee will miss the London 2012 Games after testing positive for marijuana. Of course Stephany knew the consequences of testing positive for marijuana use, but the issue lies more in the fact that those consequences still even exist today. Lee says she uses marijuana for medicinal purposes to help with her insomnia, stomach problems and anxiety. The fact that a professional athlete is being banned from the Olympic games because she uses marijuana to treat her medical issues is just mind boggling. Does the use of marijuana cause Stephany to be lazy and uncoordinated? No, she is a successful athlete who has trained and worked hard to be able to participate in the Olympic Games. Is Stephany's use of marijuana performance enhancing giving her a competitive edge over the competition? No, not anymore than the fact that it helps her in regards to her medical issues. Everyone has a right to treat their health issues with medication. So what is the reasoning behind banning her from the Olympics? Oh yeah, it's because of the old-school standards associated with marijuana prohibition that make absolutely no sense today...
